Deputy Chief Engineer – Transmission, Access Network & NOC Operations

Global Technology Group is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer – Transmission, Access Network & NOC Operations to lead the design, operation, and maintenance of our fiber optic broadband infrastructure. This is a senior technical leadership role, requiring hands-on engineering expertise combined with strong operational management to support our expanding broadband network and 24/7 service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain DWDM, PTN, and GPON-based access network infrastructure.
- Configure, manage, and optimize OLT platforms to support FTTH services.
- Troubleshoot incidents and resolve service-impacting issues across transmission and access layers.
- Monitor network alarms, performance, and outages using NOC/NMS tools (e.g., U2000, ZSmart).
- Plan and document network expansion and upgrade projects in coordination with central engineering.
- Supervise regional teams and contractors during installation and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and quality control processes.
- Prepare BoQs, technical reports, and capacity planning documentation.
- Coordinate with central engineering and field teams for deployment and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in telecom or fiber broadband engineering.
- Proven expertise in:
- OLT (GPON/XG-PON) setup and operations
- DWDM and PTN technologies
- Electrical systems (AC/DC power, UPS, batteries)
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
- Proficiency in network monitoring platforms, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel across the cities and work on-call as required.
