Global Technology Group is seeking a Senior Engineer – Fiber to lead the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of fiber optic networks and related infrastructure in the Mandalay region. The role includes managing internal and third-party teams and delivering high-quality network designs for Metro, ODN, Enterprise, and FTTX rollouts.
Job Description - Lead and provide technical expertise in fiber design and planning across Metro, ODN, Enterprise, and FTTX networks.
- Support pre-sales activities and drive operational readiness for deployment readiness.
- Oversee internal and third-party teams for high-quality fiber designs.
- Lead fiber design activities and train technical staff for performance improvement.
- Manage Metro Project, Operations & Maintenance, and LSP Management teams.
- Supervise site engineers/subcontractors for installation and migration activities.
- Coordinate project demand, resource allocation, and budgeting (monthly/quarterly/yearly).
- Create master plans for CDC network scaling and province coverage.
- Ensure technical excellence, efficiency, and product understanding within the department.
- Install systems when required and communicate effectively with customers.
- Oversee new builds, upgrades, diversions, and B2B network connections (aerial/underground).
- Consult on new design plans, technologies, and network deployment strategies.
- Participate in surveying, optimizing, and ensuring deployable design implementation.
- Collaborate with branches and operations to adjust technical plans as deployed.
- Identify opportunities for cost, time, and quality improvement.
- Handle any other responsibilities as delegated by management.
Job Requirements - Experience in fiber design for fixed and cable operators, including GPON, FTTX, and Active Ethernet networks.
- Well-established network within the fiber services industry (both supplier and customer sides).
- Deep knowledge of fiber architectures, topologies, and mixed FTTx (GPON, XGPON, FAST, Active Ethernet).
- Proficiency in fiber design tools, survey/inventory applications, and permit documentation.
- Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, as-built engineering, and quality control of designs.
- Strong customer-facing communication and technical consulting skills.
- Confidence in coordinating cross-functional and external deployment teams.
